The Yoke of Jesus

Weary Christian, seek no more
Vanities you sought before
Heavy are the loads of life
When you live for self and strife

Flee the world’s enticing charms
Running to your Saviour’s arms
In the bosom of your Lord
Rest upon His every Word

Mark where your today is from
For tomorrow may not come
Every moment is a gift
When you know which load to lift

Put the yoke of Jesus on
And you’ll find the burden gone

As a fleeting, mortal man
Why not serve while you still can –
And who better to obey
Than the one who formed this day?

In the hour of it’s dawn
Put the yoke of Jesus on
